Ignition, Inc. is an Apple-focused IT support company that works mainly with technology startups, investment firms and other professional businesses. The company has been operating for almost 30 years and is hiring a full-time remote Help Desk Technician to support clients when they have problems with their computers, accounts, email or work tools. The job is advertised as remote and listed under “Anywhere in the World.”

Job Type and Working Hours

This is a full-time work-from-home role. However, the company requires applicants to be able to work normal business hours in either the Eastern Time Zone or Pacific Time Zone in the United States. From Nigeria, this could mean evening or night work, depending on the shift assigned.

What You Will Do

Your work will involve helping people solve basic and medium-level IT problems. You may assist new employees by setting up their Mac laptops, creating Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 accounts, giving them access to company tools and ensuring their devices are properly configured.

You may also reset passwords, fix email problems, help staff access their accounts, support Zoom or conference-room equipment, answer phone calls and emails, and update support tickets. When an issue is too technical, you will research it or pass it to a more senior team member.

The company says the role is not only about fixing devices. They want someone who can remain calm, polite and helpful when a client is frustrated or unable to work because of a technical issue.

Skills and Requirements

This is not a simple no-experience customer-service role. You should already have at least two years of IT support experience, although the company says highly motivated beginners who have taught themselves technology may still be considered.

You need a quiet workspace, reliable internet, strong written English and comfort using Apple devices. Knowledge of Macs, iPhones, Windows computers, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Zoom, Slack, password resets and basic troubleshooting will help. The company also expects you to learn tools such as device-management systems, online security tools and identity-access platforms.

Salary and Benefits

The job board lists a salary band of $50,000 to $74,999 USD per year. However, the company specifically says that the $50,000–$65,000 yearly base salary is for junior applicants located in the United States. Applicants outside the United States will be paid based on their local employment market, so you should ask about your exact salary during the hiring process before accepting an offer.

For U.S.-based staff, listed benefits include health insurance, dental and vision cover, a 401(k) contribution, two weeks of paid leave and a home-internet stipend. Benefits for international contractors may differ.
