A Transcription Job needed by GoTranscript
GoTranscript Transcriber / Editor
Company: GoTranscript
Location: Fully Remote — Worldwide (including Nigeria)
Type: Freelance / Independent Contractor
Status: Actively Hiring — Hiring is fully open as of June 2026
About the Company
GoTranscript is a global transcription and translation company founded in 2005, trusted by media organizations, universities, and Fortune 50 companies. They operate in over 140 languages and are one of the most established names in the remote transcription industry. They are not a scam — they have over 20 years of verified payment history to freelancers worldwide.
What You Will Do
As a transcriber, your job is to listen to audio or video recordings and type out exactly what is being said into a clean, written document. You work at your own pace, choose your own hours, and pick tasks that are available in your dashboard. As an editor, you review transcripts created by other transcribers and correct any errors in grammar, punctuation, or accuracy. Beginners typically start as transcribers and move into editing as their quality improves.
Requirements
You do not need prior experience. What you need is a computer or laptop (not just a phone), a stable internet connection, strong English listening and reading skills, a typing speed of at least 40 words per minute, and good attention to detail. You must be 18 or older.
Salary and Pay
GoTranscript pays per audio minute transcribed, not per hour. The rate starts at around $0.60 per audio minute for beginners and increases as your accuracy scores improve. Experienced transcribers with high quality ratings can earn up to $1.00 or more per audio minute. If you work consistently and handle about 2–3 hours of audio per day, you can realistically earn between $150 and $400 per month. Payments are made every Friday via PayPal or Payoneer, with no minimum payout threshold.
How to Apply
Go directly to gotranscript.com, click on “Transcription Jobs” in the menu, fill out a short registration form with your name and email, then take a free transcription test where you transcribe a short audio sample. Your test is graded, and if you pass, you are approved and can start working immediately. The entire process takes about 30 to 45 minutes.
