A service writer (equipment repair) is responsible for assisting customers with equipment repair services by documenting service requests, preparing repair work orders, coordinating with technicians, and providing updates throughout the repair process.

Main Responsibilities

  • Greet customers and discuss equipment problems or repair needs.
  • Prepare and process repair work orders and service documentation.
  • Schedule repair appointments and coordinate with technicians.
  • Provide customers with repair estimates, timelines, and service updates.
  • Maintain accurate customer, equipment, and service records.
  • Order parts or coordinate parts availability when required.
  • Process invoices and payments upon completion of repairs.

Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Advise clients on advertising or sales promotion strategies
  • Answer written and oral inquiries
  • Answer inquiries and provide information to customers
  • Arrange for billing for services
  • Arrange for refunds and credits
  • Explain the type and cost of services offered
  • Issue receipts and other forms
  • Maintain records and statistics
  • Obtain and examine all relevant information to assess client feedback, enquiries and complaints in the delivery of meaningful information and services.
  • Perform general office duties
  • Receive payments
  • Explain procedures, risks and benefits to clients
  • Maintain and manage digital database
  • Answer clients’ inquiries and provide information
  • Consult with clients after sale to provide ongoing support
