A housekeeping room attendant is responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and preparing guest rooms and public areas in hotels, resorts, hospitals, or other accommodation facilities to ensure a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize guest rooms, bathrooms, and assigned areas.
  • Make beds and replace linens, towels, and toiletries.
  • Vacuum, dust, mop, and polish furniture and fixtures.

  • Report maintenance issues, lost items, or damaged property.

Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Sweep, mop, wash and polish floors
  • Dust furniture
  • Vacuum carpeting, area rugs, draperies and upholstered furniture
  • Make beds and change sheets
  • Distribute clean towels and toiletries
  • Stock linen closet
  • Clean, disinfect and polish kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances
  • Handle and report lost and found items
  • Attend to guests’ requests for extra supplies or other items
  • Pick up debris and empty trash containers
  • Launder clothing and household linens
  • Wash windows, walls and ceilings
  • Address customers’ complaints or concerns
  • Schedule staff
  • Maintain inventory of supplies
  • Inspect sites or facilities to ensure safety and cleanliness standards
