Child Care Worker, Daycare Job Description
A Child Care Worker, Daycare is responsible for providing a safe, caring, and stimulating environment for children in a daycare or early learning center. They supervise children throughout the day, assist with meals, personal hygiene, and daily routines, and plan age-appropriate educational, creative, and recreational activities that promote children’s physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development. Child Care Workers observe children’s behavior and progress, encourage positive social interaction, and communicate regularly with parents and colleagues about each child’s well-being. They also maintain a clean and organized classroom, ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and respond appropriately to emergencies. Their role is essential in supporting children’s growth, learning, and overall development in a nurturing environment.
Main Responsibilities:
- Supervise and care for children in a daycare setting.
- Plan and lead educational, creative, and recreational activities.
- Assist children with meals, personal hygiene, and daily routines.
- Monitor children’s development and maintain progress records.
- Encourage positive behavior and social interaction.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized childcare environment.
- Communicate with parents and team members about children’s progress.
- Follow childcare policies, health, safety, and licensing regulations.
Important Skills:
A successful Child Care Worker should have patience, compassion, and a genuine passion for working with children. They should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, creativity, strong organizational and time management abilities, observation and problem-solving skills, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations. Knowledge of child development, first aid, safeguarding practices, teamwork, and a commitment to providing a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment are also essential for success in this role.

Salary: 22.00 to 23.00 hourly (To be negotiated) / 20 hours per week

Work schedule: Day, 14:00 to 18:00
