Hotel Maintenance Technician Job Description

A Hotel Maintenance Technician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing the building, equipment, and facilities of a hotel to ensure a safe, comfortable, and functional environment for guests and staff. They perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), lighting, carpentry, and mechanical systems. Hotel Maintenance Technicians respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and hotel staff, conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues, and ensure all work complies with safety regulations and hotel standards. They also maintain maintenance records, perform preventive maintenance, and help keep the hotel’s facilities in excellent condition to enhance the guest experience.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, maintain, and repair hotel facilities and equipment.
  • Perform electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general maintenance tasks.
  • Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and routine inspections.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment and building systems.
  • Maintain maintenance logs and repair records.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and building regulations.
  • Keep tools, equipment, and maintenance areas clean and organized.

Important Skills:
A successful Hotel Maintenance Technician should have strong mechanical and technical skills, knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry systems, problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, time management, and the ability to work independently. Good communication skills, customer service abilities, physical stamina, reliability, and a strong commitment to workplace safety are also essential for maintaining high hotel standards and ensuring guest satisfaction.
