Construction Worker Job Description
A Construction Worker performs a variety of physical tasks involved in building, repairing, and maintaining residential, commercial, and industrial structures. They assist with preparing construction sites, loading and unloading materials, operating hand and power tools, digging trenches, mixing concrete, assembling structures, and cleaning work areas. Construction Workers follow project plans and safety procedures while working alongside skilled tradespeople such as carpenters, electricians, plumbers, and equipment operators. They help ensure that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Construction Workers may also assist with demolition, lifting heavy materials, installing temporary structures, and performing general labor duties on construction sites.
Main Responsibilities:
- Prepare and clean construction sites.
- Load, unload, and transport construction materials.
- Operate hand and power tools safely.
- Assist with building, installing, and repairing structures.
- Follow construction plans and supervisors’ instructions.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Perform demolition and site cleanup when required.
- Comply with workplace health and safety regulations.
