Construction Labourer Job Description
A Construction Labourer performs a variety of physical tasks to support construction projects in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. They assist with site preparation, loading and unloading materials, digging trenches, mixing concrete, operating basic hand and power tools, and cleaning work areas. Construction Labourers work alongside skilled tradespeople such as carpenters, electricians, plumbers, and heavy equipment operators to help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. They also set up and dismantle temporary structures, move equipment and supplies, remove debris, and follow all workplace health and safety regulations. Their role is essential in maintaining a productive and organized construction site.
Main Responsibilities:
- Prepare and clean construction sites before, during, and after work.
- Load, unload, and transport construction materials and equipment.
- Assist skilled tradespeople with construction and installation tasks.
- Operate basic hand and power tools safely.
- Dig trenches, mix concrete, and perform general labor duties.
- Set up and dismantle scaffolding and temporary structures.
- Remove debris and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Follow workplace health and safety regulations at all times.
Important Skills:
A successful Construction Labourer should have physical strength and stamina, good teamwork and communication skills, the ability to follow instructions, attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving abilities. Tasks
- Load, unload and transport construction materials
