Motor Vehicle Repair Shop Coordinator Job Description
A Motor Vehicle Repair Shop Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of an automotive repair shop and ensuring repair services are completed efficiently, safely, and on schedule. They coordinate repair appointments, assign work to mechanics and technicians, monitor job progress, order parts and supplies, and maintain accurate service records. The coordinator communicates with customers to explain repair needs, provide cost estimates, and update them on the status of their vehicles. They also ensure compliance with workplace safety standards, manage workflow, and work closely with suppliers and staff to maintain high-quality service and customer satisfaction. Their role is essential in ensuring the repair shop operates smoothly and meets performance goals.
Main Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily repair shop operations and workflow.
- Schedule vehicle inspections, maintenance, and repair appointments.
- Assign repair tasks to mechanics and technicians.
- Communicate with customers regarding repair estimates and progress.
- Order and manage automotive parts, tools, and workshop supplies.
- Maintain service records, work orders, and inventory documentation.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety and quality standards.
- Monitor productivity and support efficient shop operations.
