Pharmacy Assistant Job Description
A Pharmacy Assistant supports pharmacists in the daily operation of a pharmacy by assisting with administrative, customer service, and inventory tasks. They greet customers, receive prescriptions, process payments, prepare prescription labels, and help organize medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Pharmacy Assistants also manage inventory by receiving, stocking, and checking pharmaceutical supplies, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring medications are stored properly. They answer general customer inquiries, schedule prescription pickups, and help keep the pharmacy clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations. Their role is essential in ensuring efficient pharmacy operations while providing excellent customer service.
Main Responsibilities:
- Assist customers with prescription drop-offs and pickups.
- Prepare prescription labels and organize medications under a pharmacist’s supervision.
- Process payments and maintain accurate customer records.
- Receive, stock, and monitor pharmacy inventory.
- Answer general customer inquiries and direct medical questions to the pharmacist.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy.
