Pest Control Technician Job Description
A Pest Control Technician is responsible for inspecting, identifying, and eliminating pests such as insects, rodents, termites, and other unwanted organisms in residential, commercial, and industrial properties. They assess pest infestations, recommend appropriate treatment methods, and apply pesticides, traps, baits, and other pest control solutions safely and effectively. Pest Control Technicians also educate customers on preventive measures, inspect properties for potential pest entry points, prepare service reports, and ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations. They maintain pest control equipment, monitor treatment results, and provide follow-up services to ensure infestations are fully resolved. Their role is essential in protecting public health, property, and the environment from pest-related damage.
Main Responsibilities:
- Inspect properties to identify pest infestations and assess treatment needs.
- Apply pesticides, baits, traps, and other pest control treatments safely.
- Identify pest entry points and recommend preventive solutions.
- Monitor treatment effectiveness and perform follow-up inspections.
- Maintain pest control equipment and service vehicles.
- Prepare service reports and maintain accurate treatment records.
- Educate customers on pest prevention and safety measures.
- Follow environmental, health, and workplace safety regulations.
Important Skills:
A successful Pest Control Technician should have knowledge of pest identification and control methods, attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and good communication and customer service skills.
