Truck driver needed in Canada for TRANS 9 CALEDON GROUP
A truck driver is responsible for transporting goods and materials safely and efficiently from one location to another while following traffic laws, delivery schedules, and company procedures.
Main Responsibilities
- Operate trucks safely to transport goods over short or long distances.
- Load, secure, and unload cargo when required.
- Inspect the vehicle before and after trips to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Follow delivery schedules and planned routes.
- Maintain accurate delivery, mileage, and inspection records.
- Comply with traffic laws and transportation regulations.
- Report vehicle maintenance needs, accidents, or delays.
- Communicate with dispatchers, customers, and warehouse staff.

- Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
- Address customers’ complaints or concerns

- Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
- Perform brake adjustments
- Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
- Perform preventive maintenance
- Receive and relay information to central dispatch
- Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
- Transport and handle dangerous goods
