Concrete Finisher Job Description
A Concrete Finisher is responsible for placing, leveling, smoothing, and finishing concrete surfaces used in residential, commercial, and industrial construction projects. They prepare forms, pour concrete, spread and level the material, and use specialized tools to create smooth, durable, and attractive finishes for floors, sidewalks, driveways, foundations, bridges, and other structures. Concrete Finishers also apply sealants, repair cracks or damaged surfaces, and ensure finished concrete meets project specifications and quality standards. They work closely with construction crews, follow blueprints, and comply with workplace health and safety regulations while performing physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
Main Responsibilities:
- Prepare and set up forms for concrete placement.
- Pour, spread, level, and smooth concrete surfaces.
- Use hand and power tools to finish and texture concrete.
- Apply sealants and curing compounds as required.
- Repair cracks, chips, and damaged concrete surfaces.
- Read construction plans and follow project specifications.
- Maintain tools and keep the work area clean and organized.
- Follow workplace health and safety regulations.
Important Skills:
A successful Concrete Finisher should have strong knowledge of concrete finishing techniques, attention to detail, physical strength and stamina, manual dexterity, problem-solving abilities, time management, and the ability to read construction drawings. Good teamwork and communication skills, proficiency with concrete finishing tools and equipment, reliability, and a strong commitment to workplace safety are also essential for producing high-quality, durable concrete surfaces.

Responsibilities
Tasks
- Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement
- Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification
- Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools
- Waterproof, damp proof and restore surfaces
- Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures
