Fruit Farm Worker Job Description

A Fruit Farm Worker is responsible for planting, cultivating, harvesting, sorting, and packing a variety of fruits such as apples, berries, grapes, oranges, and other seasonal crops. They prepare fields and orchards, water and fertilize plants, prune trees and vines, remove weeds, and monitor crops for pests, diseases, or damage. Fruit Farm Workers carefully harvest fruit by hand or with specialized equipment to prevent damage and maintain product quality. They also sort, grade, package, and prepare harvested fruit for storage or transportation while maintaining cleanliness and following food safety standards. Their role is essential in ensuring healthy crops, high-quality produce, and efficient farm operations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Plant, cultivate, and care for fruit crops.
  • Harvest fruit by hand or using harvesting equipment.
  • Sort, grade, and package fruit for storage and shipment.
  • Water, fertilize, prune, and weed crops as required.
  • Monitor crops for pests, diseases, and damage.
  • Operate and maintain basic farm tools and equipment.
  • Keep work areas clean and assist with general farm maintenance.
  • Follow workplace health, safety, food safety, and environmental regulations.

Important Skills:
A successful Fruit Farm Worker should have physical strength and stamina, attention to detail, basic knowledge of fruit farming and harvesting techniques, and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
