Line cook needed in Canada by Cottage Canoe
A line cook is a kitchen employee who prepares and cooks food at a specific cooking station in a restaurant, ensuring meals are prepared accurately, efficiently, and according to recipes.
Main Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards.
- Operate a designated cooking station, such as the grill, fryer, sauté, or salad station.
- Prepare ingredients by chopping, measuring, and portioning food.
- Ensure food is cooked safely and served on time.
- Keep the work area clean and follow food safety and sanitation standards.
- Monitor food stock and notify supervisors when supplies are low.
- Assist with kitchen cleaning and closing duties.
