Restaurant Manager Job Description

A Restaurant Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a restaurant to ensure excellent customer service, efficient staff performance, and profitable business operations. They manage front-of-house and back-of-house activities, supervise employees, coordinate work schedules, monitor food quality, and maintain high standards of cleanliness and customer satisfaction. Restaurant Managers also recruit, train, and evaluate staff, manage inventory, control operating costs, and ensure compliance with food safety and health regulations. They handle customer concerns professionally, prepare operational reports, and work closely with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service. Their goal is to create a positive dining experience while achieving the restaurant’s financial and operational objectives.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the restaurant.
  • Supervise, train, and schedule restaurant staff.
  • Ensure excellent customer service and resolve customer complaints.
  • Monitor food quality, cleanliness, and service standards.
  • Manage inventory and order food, beverages, and supplies.
  • Control costs and monitor budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, health, and workplace regulations.
  • Prepare reports and implement strategies to improve sales and operational efficiency.

  • Plan and organize daily operations

  • Participate in marketing plans and implementation
  • Address customers’ complaints or concerns
