Fast-Food Service Attendant Job Description

A Fast-Food Service Attendant is responsible for providing friendly and efficient customer service in fast-food restaurants by taking orders, preparing food and beverages, processing payments, and maintaining a clean dining and food preparation area. They greet customers, explain menu items, assemble meals according to company standards, package orders for dine-in, takeout, or delivery, and ensure orders are accurate and served promptly. Fast-Food Service Attendants also restock supplies, clean kitchen equipment and dining areas, and follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace health regulations. They work closely with kitchen staff and team members to deliver a positive customer experience while maintaining speed, quality, and cleanliness.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Welcome customers and take food and beverage orders.
  • Prepare and assemble meals according to company standards.
  • Process cash, card, and electronic payments accurately.
  • Package orders for dine-in, takeaway, or delivery.
  • Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, kitchen equipment, and workstations.
  • Restock food items, condiments, and supplies.
  • Resolve basic customer inquiries and provide excellent service.
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety regulations.

Important Skills:
A successful Fast-Food Service Attendant should have excellent customer service and communication skills, the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, attention to detail, teamwork, time management, basic cash-handling skills, and problem-solving abilities. Reliability, a positive attitude, physical stamina, adaptability, and knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices are also essential for delivering quality service and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Clean and sanitize items such as dishwasher mats, carts and waste disposal units
  • Clear and clean tables, trays and chairs
  • Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware and flatware
  • Replenish condiments and other supplies at tables and serving areas
  • Scour pots and pans
  • Keep records of the quantities of food used
  • Package take-out food
  • Portion and wrap foods
  • Prepare, heat and finish simple food items
  • Take customers’ orders
  • Remove kitchen garbage and trash
  • Sweep, mop, wash and polish floors
